Fashion is a reflection of our personality. The same goes for miniature clothing, which becomes an extension of the model wearing it and gives us a more complete idea of who the character is and what they represent. After bringing us Needle Felting: Creation of Characters with Needle and Thread, Caro Indy is back, this time to teach you how to dress your creations in miniature clothing made by hand or with a sewing machine.
In this online course, learn the entire creative process, from patternmaking to putting the final details on your finished garment. Caro teaches you how to design patterns and sew the miniature clothing for your little creations, whether they are felt dolls like the ones in her first course, or any other type of miniature figure you want to dress up.

Start by getting to know Caro, how she got started in felting characters, and how her passion for making miniature clothes came about. She shares some of her influences and sources of creative inspiration.
Take a look at the basic sewing materials required, such as thread, needles, and fabric, before learning the fundamentals of hand sewing by getting to grips with some stitches. If you have a sewing machine, Caro also teaches you to use it, guiding you through how to thread, do the first stitch, wind a bobbin, and end a stitch.
Next, Caro teaches you how to create your own pattern by taking the measurements of your doll and transferring them to paper. Learn how to make modifications to get a neckline, darts, ruffles, etc.
It's time to sew your first set of clothes, starting with simple items: some socks and a pair of shorts. Then make a T-shirt with raglan sleeves and a skirt with a French seam. Move on to slightly more complicated garments: a shirt and jeans. For the advanced level garments, make a dress and, as your star piece, a coat with a hood.
Now you've got all the skills to make eight amazing miniature costume pieces.
Create a miniature coat with a hood, inner lining, and some extra details.

Anyone who is currently working on a doll project and wants to give their creations a special twist, as well as sewing and craft enthusiasts of all ages.
There's no need to have any sewing knowledge, since Caro teaches you her process from scratch.
As for materials, you need sewing needles, threads in different colors, pins, scissors (for paper, fabric, and cutting threads), a heat erasable pen or tailor's chalk to mark the fabric, manila paper or cardstock, tracing or carbon paper, an iron, measuring tape, a ruler, and different types of fabrics or scraps (you can even reuse clothes that you no longer wear). Some projects require knit fabrics that stretch, while others require flat or stiff fabrics.
A sewing machine would also be ideal, although it is not essential.
