Each day is a new journey in which any number of things can happen. We go places, meet people, and have a variety of experiences ranging from unremarkable to extraordinary. Architect and teacher Claudio Patanè collects it all in something he calls a "custodiary," a travel sketchbook where he illustrates and recounts these daily happenings in order to cherish them forever.
In this online course, learn to create your own artistic travel journal alongside Claudio, starting with some watercolor drawings followed by words and descriptions and, finally, mementos and objects related to a particular moment. Then see how to assemble all your material and how to bind your book to compose a unique and personal travel journal. With Claudio as your guide, discover the hidden wonders scattered throughout your day-to-day, then illustrate them, narrate them, and treasure them.

Meet your teacher for the course, Claudio Patanè, an architect and teacher living and working in Sicily. Discover the influences that inspire him to make his custodiaries, or travel sketchbooks, where he chronicles his daily life.
Then take a look at all the necessary materials and tools and do a series of exercises to help you overcome your fear of the blank page, using just pencils and card stock.
Claudio also teaches you some writing techniques to enrich your sketchbook with words, phrases, or descriptions.
Now it's time to create the pages of your artistic journal: start with some landscape drawings, complement your images with writing, and assemble the completed pages into your travel sketchbook.
Next up, learn how to include objects within the journal, modifying it to turn it into a kind of sculpture. To bring the course to a close, work on the cover, exploring how to bind the pages, and see how to make a bookmark.
Claudio shares some final tips for photographing your work and presenting your illustrated journal on social media or at exhibitions.

interessante e ben presentato. Mi è piaciuto molto e l'ho trovato di grande ispirazione
I didn't find this course particularly engaging. Drawing from a twig or from a postcard in a random manner and calling it 'imagination' or 'fantastical' is a stretch and quite boring. The taught techniques were not useful at all and I will not be including any of them in my practice.
