“In this lesson, we will look at how we can scale type with reference to point size and millimetres. This will demonstrate techniques for successfully scaling letters, words and sentences. So let's begin. When working with type, we are able to control the size through applying a point size. However, we may wish to increase the scale of a piece of type dramatically, and we need a quick way to do this. Therefore, we can use InDesign's scaling tool. Jamie Sanchez Hearn is an English graphic designer and lecturer with over ten years of experience in the field. He has worked for creative agencies such as Pentagram, Johnson Banks, Paper Dog, and Landor Associates.
In parallel to working with agencies, he has been teaching at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London for over eight years. Jamie has lectured on a variety of Saint Martin’s undergraduate courses including BA Graphic Communication Design and BA Fashion Journalism.
