Understand how Affinity Designer works in this seven-part Domestika Basics. Learn Ros’ easy-to-follow method and apply what you learn in each lesson with a practical exercise.
To start off, get familiar with the software’s interface, its different modes (called Personas), and see how to create a new document.
In the second course, learn how to navigate a project and see how to design and modify basic shapes using different vector illustration tools.
Discover the range of tools used to create gradients and transparencies, the color combination creator, and some different ways of organizing samples and styles.
In the fourth course, learn how to work with layers, groups, and symbols by applying a clipping mask, adjustment layers, effects, and fusion modes. See the text tools and learn how to manage typographies and glyphs.
One of the most appealing features of Affinity Designer is the ability to edit and work with the software’s isometric drawing tools. In the fifth course, learn how to create elements with different perspectives and see how to simulate 3D objects.
In the sixth course, discover how to edit rasterized images: from the selection and crop, to basic photography editing, to drawing with the pixel brush. Discover unique techniques for applying realistic textures and moods.
Lastly, review the many exporting formats, both print and digital, and create different file formats like PSD.
Technical Requirements
⦁ A basic knowledge of graphic design theory is recommended. ⦁ A computer with Affinity Designer 1.8.3 or higher installed. You can use macOS 10.9 or higher, with 2GB RAM or Windows® 10 (anniversary update 1607 or a previous version), Windows® 8.1, Windows® 7 (Service Pack 1; Aero enabled) with 2-4GB RAM.

Este es uno de los mejores cursos basics que puedes tomar en la plataforma. Si bien el curso está enfocado en la versión anterior de Affinty, se aborda toda la herramienta de manera profesional y muy completa. Yo tengo ambas versiones instaladas y puedo decir que ha sido de gran ayuda y soporte este curso.

Está desactualizado con la versión de affinity by Canva. Hay muchas opciones que no se encuentran en el mismo sitio

Unfortunately, Affinity has been updated recently making aspects of the videos hard to follow as the screen video doesn't match up with the new version. There's also times when the instructor skips a step and it gets confusing.
Now, there are some very good points. The course content is well considered. And the tasks are interesting. I thought the assignments are great.
