Course 8 - Exporting: Welcome

About the video: Welcome
Overview
“Once we have finished assembling our sequence, it is time to take it out of Avid and share it with the world, either because we want to upload it to the internet or because we need to move on to the next post-production phase. It is the export phase. The editing work may seem lonely, but in reality it is a team work and, therefore, we need to follow a specific procedure so that the rest of the areas can continue their work without problems of reconnection with the archives. In this almost final phase, we will have talked with colorist, sound designer and other departments such as music to know what programs they will work on and what workflow they need. There are a number of files that serve as a bridge between different programs, such as an AAF can serve to reconnect the sound of our Avid sequence in the Pro-Tools or the image in the DaVinci. The settings of these files will always be conditioned by what is established by the person in charge of performing the subsequent work. If a sound engineer or a colorist asks us for something specific, we will create the file according to those parameters. Therefore, our sequence will need some elements that we will learn in the following lessons. In this course we will know exports that go beyond making quicktime to reproduce. I will show you how to prepare a sequence so that it meets the needs of the sound design and grading departments, as well as the different ways of communicating with the departments that work in a film production and that also apply to advertising or TV. ”
In this video lesson Raúl Barreras addresses the topic: Welcome, which is part of the Domestika online course: Course 8 - Exporting. Hand in the final edit.
