Course 3 - Synchronization: Welcome
By Raúl Barreras , Film Editor
About the video: Welcome
Overview
“In this third course we will go into synchronization and the way of working with multi-camera. It is important to know that in a professional shoot, the image is usually recorded separately from the sound. The sound designer creates the audio files on his recorder, while the photographer creates the image files on the camera. To have a reference on how to join the image with the sound, the clapperboards that mark with their clap a sync point are filmed. There are several methods to synchronize, but we are going to use the standard handled in cinematographic projects for their safety and efficiency when exporting and continuing with the production workflow. Once we have learned to synchronize, we will see ways to name files without making mistakes that may be harmful later and, finally, we will know the multi-camera mode. There are shootings that use more than one camera to record their content. In the edition we can make groups of these files to synchronize each camera and then allow us to edit following the temporality in real time. ”
In this video lesson Raúl Barreras addresses the topic: Welcome, which is part of the Domestika online course: Course 3 - Synchronization. Explore the union of image and sound.
