Introduction to Narrative Writing
“Congratulations! You have come a long way in this course and have reached its last stage. There are a few more things I need to tell you: I think they will help you to continue, in your own way, your own path in narrative writing. In this course we have delved at least a little into the art of creating stories. We have seen that all human beings count them all the time, and that a first step to creating them in media such as writing, film or television is, simply, to become aware that we are creating: that we can learn beyond our own natural ability. We have seen the three essential stages of all history: setting, development and conclusion, and you have learned its essential components: perspective, space, time and characters. You have also learned about frames and structures, and have begun to practice with all this new knowledge in the different exercises that I have proposed. You have even planned to make your own story [insertar definición de cuento]In reality, learning to apply what you already know is less complicated than time consuming - it takes practice. Do more experiments with different plots and structures, with different characters and perspectives. Writing more skillfully does not mean that you come to think about these concepts all the time, but on the contrary, that you become familiar with them to the point that you can use them consciously without having to repeat what has already been said in the lessons. Be patient and give yourself the opportunity that not all exercises satisfy you. This is a lengthy process, like learning to play a musical instrument or training for a sport. You just need time and perseverance. You don't need anything to complete that last task…, other than to make it completely yours. Apply it for your own works. Once you start, you will see that a very rewarding part of the work of writing and creating stories is what is called going in search of your own voice, or your own style: deciding what you want to say, what you want to tell, and how you want to do it. Look for stories from people other than those for whom we have written the sample texts: if you read them carefully, they will help you expand your repertoire of techniques and have more options when writing. I invite you to write starting from some fact that has moved you: remember that, if it moves you, you are capable of infecting that emotion in your own way. Tell stories from your own experiences [insertar anécdota]I thank you very much for your attention and I hope not only that this course has been useful to you, but that you can remember it later as a good stage in your career, either as a professional or simply as a person interested in stories. Do not forget to go to the forum to see the works that other people publish; I'll be there too, as much and as often as possible. It may take me a while to answer everything, but if each of those who participate in this course comments on some of the others' texts, they will all have more opinions, that is, more ideas to work on and new perspectives to make their own stories. This is the most enriching thing an online community like this can have: take advantage of it, and help other people take advantage of it too. Thank you very much, then, and I hope we meet again.”

“FINAL PROJECT It's the end of the course. In this course we explored the art of telling stories. We learned that human beings can tell them and that to create stories that appeal to and move a lot of people, we simply have to become aware that we are creating, that there are resources available, beyond the natural ability human beings have to tell stories. We saw the three key stages of stories: intro, development and conclusion. We explored the concepts of form, such as structure and plot, and we saw the resources or essential components of the content of all stories: characters, narrated ...”
