Can you fit a whole world into just 100 words? In this contest, we challenge you to write a short story that’s brief but unforgettable. Your microfiction must be complete—with a beginning, middle, and end—in exactly 100 words. No more, no less.

It can be poetic, dramatic, surreal, autobiographical, humorous, or mysterious. The important thing is that it moves the reader in just a few lines.

1️⃣ The Story
Write a complete story in exactly 100 words. It can be in any genre or tone—as long as it follows a clear narrative structure (beginning, conflict, resolution). There are no restrictions on language.

Your story must be original and created by you—entries generated by AI or copied from other sources will be disqualified.

The final text must be written directly using Domestika’s text editor in the project description. Do not upload a photo of the text. Entries that include the story only as an image will not be accepted.

2️⃣ Project Format
Publish your microfiction as a project on Domestika. The project must be structured in steps, with at least the following: – Step 1: The final text of your story (title + body). – Step 2: A brief explanation of your inspiration or creative approach (1–3 lines). – Step 3 (optional): Visual support (photo, design, drawing...) if you wish to add an image to accompany your story.

Each step must be clearly labeled and include a short description. The project should be easy to follow and reflect your microfiction process.

3️⃣ Word Count Check
Use a word counter to ensure your story has exactly 100 words. Entries with fewer or more words will not be considered.

The Domestika team will evaluate all submitted projects and select the winners based on:

• Creativity → Originality of the story and strength of the writer’s personal voice.
• Clarity → Clear and complete step-by-step presentation of the creative process.
• Structure → A well-formed narrative with a beginning, middle, and end—within exactly 100 words.
• Concept → Depth and impact of the idea, and how effectively it is conveyed in a limited format.

The most outstanding entries will be those that do a lot with very little—stories that surprise, move, or resonate, and show a process that can inspire others.
