I am a family doctor who loves patterns and has deep respect for artisans from all cultures who have protected human skill and creativity from mechanisation. Recently I have had treatment for cancer and I took a small piece of work with me wherever I waited and I was encouraged by seeing Sashiko to see the beauty in ordinary stiches. The stiching also was like meditation - helping to calm and order my world as my body was not well. Thankyou for your passion for Sashiko - I have already learnt so much.
