My project for course: Introduction to Japanese Sashiko Stitching

This is my first piece, Asanoha pattern, following teacher’s instructions. I drew the lines on cotton. I used 6 strand embroidery floss thread as I don’t yet have the Sashiko kit I ordered. I couldn’t wait to start. I also made my own thimble and put a coin inside. I will have the suggested thimble in a few days. I like the class and appreciate all the instruction and the history and culture of Sashiko. I think I’ll do more. I have an old cotton kimono from my mother that I want to repair. I will add photos for that project later.
