Cuya vida no peligre.
Al sentir el barbarote
Que un viviente se le arrima,
La mano le pone encima
Relamiéndose el bigote.
Nuestro conejo malicia,
Y proezas encomiadas
Son puras fanfarronadas,
Hijas de un heroico miedo.José Manuel Marroquín ((1827-1908)

Here is my illustration project for this course I did with so much love and care for Doméstika.
The illustration arises from the story of José Manuel Marroquín "The tiger and the rabbit".
To give some context to the resulting image, here's a little summary of the story (it loses the beautiful verses since I'm not an accurate translator, but here it is) :
There was a rabbit in a very dark night, lost in the middle of the thick forest and enters to a tiger's cave, the fiercest and dangerous.
The great wild beast feels a living been approaching and suddenly plunks his paw over him, tasting his mustache.
The bunny suspects that it was the much feared beast who makes that caress, so with full of fear makes an exorbitant effort, he says in an arrogant voice:
-Hello, who has grabbed my finger?
The tiger, who hears such a thing, gasps
and says to himself: "Before the monster kills me,
I take to my heels!”
So the moral of the story at the end says something like: "How many bold traits
And commended feats, They are pure bragging, children to an heroic fear."

Here I show you some images of the process where I was able to review the basic techniques, some sketch notes and also a bit of the recording of the work in progress I used for documentation and content creation that I uploaded to my social networks.
I hope it is very useful for you.

For the course filming, I prepared several drawings in different stages to be able to show all the progress on camera. Here you can see them :)
The process of the final illustration takes approximately 4 to 6 hours, so to develop all the stages it took me almost a whole day of work (12 hours).
During the process I had to overcome various problems such as the type of paper and drying times, which went wrong in the first tests. This was super important because I learned that it is necessary for the technique to use a paper suitable for receiving several layers of watercolor, that is porous and rough, preferably cotton and at least 300g. I used Canson's 300g GUARRO paper.

Würdest du mir bitte verraten, welche Pinsel du benutzt?
