Lorrie Vancouver

I teach Textile Design and Pedagogical approaches at the University of British Columbia, Canada. I am deeply interested in Slow pedagogy and slow textile approaches (like slow food, but fibre). This means coming to know and connect with my local environment and the fibre producers in my region. I spend a lot of time in the forest near my home and on our local Gulf Islands. Art has been a central part of my being throughout my life, only now am I dedicating time on my own making in addition to teaching and mentoring others.
