Good course that offers a different perspective - the exploration of our personal experiences to find inspiration. The proposed exercises are very good. I also learned one or two new techniques, but this is not the objective of the course. Nice and carefully presented.

Because Gary is willing to share his personal stories about developing his own style, he creates a comfortable space for students to do likewise. He also has a warm style of communication. I enjoyed this class.

This is a VALUABLE COURSE!! I have been a professional artist for years, but now I want to go deeper... I love the idea of Gary doing this because the "artist´s unique voice" is a calling card. The course helps to find your artistic voice, and this is also artistry itself that also requires effort and persistence.

I just started the course but Gary is so genuine and doesn't pretend anybody else(and of course he doesn't have to). I think that sense really gives courage to viewers to be themselves. Somewhat therapeutic course.

With so much talk about developing one's "style" with a rote focus on aesthetics, Gary's course reminds students of the importance of identifying artistic inspiration in all aspects of one's life and personal story. I'm holding off on going through this course properly until I strengthen my drawing fundamentals, but I expect it will be an emotionally difficult and rewarding endeavor. The content here is uncomfortably and outdated-ly orientalist at times.
