Rosalind Johansson

Textile artist. I make art quilts and before the pandemic I took textile tours to visit countries like Peru and Sweden where there are wonderful textiles to see but also it is possible for participants to take workshops from local artists, thereby learning their techniques and in the process honouring them and respecting their skill.
I painted a lot in pastels, ...landscapes but I want to develop my watercolour skills and I want to develop my skills to work with pattern design especially for fabrics. I am passionate about colour and light. At the moment I’m working on a book project with a Peruvian artist. Otherwise I’m inspired by the beautiful Orkney Islands where am I live
and spend my time making my art and teaching my skills to small groups who come to my studio. I’m very grateful for the wonderful opportunities I have.
