Raquel Bonita

Gijón (Asturias - Spain) – 1984

Raquel Bonita is the pen name of Raquel Blázquez. I am an illustrator from the north of Spain but now I am based in Copenhagen. I graduated in Advertising and Public Relations in 2007 with the intention of work as planner and advertising strategist, but my artistic interests led me to continue with my studies in Art Direction and Web Design at (CICE) (I obtained the extraordinary end-of-course prize). Later I decided to explore the world of illustration at the School of Professional Illustration of Madrid (ESDIP).

My illustrations have been selected for some international exhibitions around the world: Chile, United Arab Emirates, South Korea, China, Italy. In 2018 I won the Special Mention in the Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition of the Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair in China. This 2021 I have been selected as one of the winners for the 55th International Illustrators Exhibitions of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
