Beautiful! It doesn't look like the sun is tacked to anything. How did you adhere it?
@rboman77 I think she cut a hole in the sky and inserted it like @cellardoortrades does often in his pieces. Although I still don’t understand how either of them cut the hole in the sky.

There is a circle cutter you can purchase but I’ve never used one.
@rboman77 Thank you, I cut the circle out with a saw, and then cut the sun out to fit inside, foiled and soldered. 😀
@toddnjk That will cut a circle of glass out for the sun, but won’t leave a round opening, you would need a saw. 😀
I really would like to point out that my glass course was meant to show you the basics of how to bring your creativity to life through glass! Really push yourself to not just replicate my designs and aesthetic but to figure out what inspires you. Find your voice … new ways of working with the medium!
@cellardoortrades While I certainly implemented your techniques in my pieces, these are my own designs and NOT yours. The reality is that for glass to work and be functional there are only so many ways to create a sturdy piece. It is important to note that technique and process are not copyrightable…..and my piece does not exactly replicate your “art” and is NOT infringing on your IP. Many glass artists utilize “stands” and the wire piece is my own take. Thank you!
I’m sorry you feel this way, @michele_lang. This has nothing to do with the techniques(i.e how you put your glass together), I’ve shared that knowledge in my course freely, it’s about how you translate those ideas swirling around in your head into glass. There are so so many possibilities. Please push yourself to find your own voice!

@cellardoortrades I’m not sure exactly which piece you are talking about. The arched piece was created and posted on my Insta in mid Nov. it is not recent as in Dec. or anything and it is my own drawing and colorway. The wire work is my own take and many glass artists use “stands” not unique to your own work.

@michele_lang beautiful piece! Just curious: does the saw fit onto a drill? Or how is it done exactly? My solder lines look so chunky - I have solder envy. 😉 Practice practice!
