Eddie Kitchens

I am retired after a 35 year career as an associate engineer. I love God, my wife, family, making furniture, creating art, & the great outdoors. My wife and I have 6 children and 10 grandchildren. All of our grandchildren are creative minded and love to draw and/or paint. I enjoy teaching them new techniques. I have been an artist for around 60 years. I owned a part-time sign and design studio for over 35 years. I fell in love with the art of hand-lettering and pinstriping at age 14. My favorite medium to work in is pen & ink with watercolor or marker, however I also enjoy working in colored pencil as well. My artistic influences are Claudia Nice, Frank Lohan and Leonardo DeVinci. Drawing calms my mind and puts me at peace with myself when anxiety and stress get the best of me. I hope to learn new techniques here that will help keep my mind thinking creatively. I have many artistic interests however, my passion is being a furniture designer & maker. I also own a vermicomposting business aka "worm farm." My goal is to educate as many people as possible about the importance of sustainable living and the benefits and advantages of organic fertilizers.
