A recent Part 1 Architectural graduate with a detail orientated and creative approach to design, keen to develop skills and experience beyond my core knowledge.
During my summer in second year I participated in a workshop in Belmonte Calabro (Italy) with La Rivoluzione Delle Seppie (NGO), London Metropolitan University and Orizzontale (an architects’ collective based in Rome). Their work has helped to integrate local’s and migrants into working together towards the sustainable regeneration of their hometown as well as to educate and change the mentality towards migrants. This had a big impact on the local’s point of view, as it generated an interaction with new cultures and skills, showing them how Belmonte can change and be a “house” for foreigners. Working alongside with Le Seppie and with experienced architects helped me develop an interest into the field of urban regeneration, that I believe can help to eradicate stereotypes and bring together communities to provide a better well-being for all inhabitants but also with the idea of sustainable urban development. During my last year at university I developed a particular interest on architectural illustration. I find it fascinating as it accurately portraits the details of an architecture project at the same time that it helps to communicate to a general public as well as a more artistic way of projecting an architectural work.
