Émilie Chen

I’m a French freelance designer and art director based in London. I love coming up with big ideas, crafting beautiful designs, and collaborating with other creatives to produce evocative and memorable images (still and video).

I trained as a graphic designer in France before moving to London, where I worked in-house at the National Theatre and Penguin Books before taking the leap into freelancing in 2019. Since then, I have been commissioned by clients including the Almeida Theatre, The Young Vic, Sheffield Theatres, BAFTA and Icon Books on design and art direction projects.

Inside and outside of work, I am passionate about making the industry a more inclusive place, and I am one of the volunteer organizers of Ladies Wine & Design London, a popular community group, and events series for women and non-binary creatives.
