Ian Finlayson

Hi, my name is Ian, I live on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. My background is in graphic design and illustration, I have worked in the textile and screen printing industry for most of my career. Recently I have been working in a completely different field.
It feels like a good time to take a fresh approach to my art. I am most inspired by landscapes and natural objects as well as the study of light, form, colour and atmosphere. My influences are diverse but the major ones are Paul Cezanne, Jean Baptiste Corot, Tom Thompson and Andrew Wyeth. I am excited to explore new approaches to water-colour techniques and drawing through these online courses.
