Fábio Antão

Fábio Antão was born in the southernmost region of Portugal, in Faro city in 1990. Currently living in Algoz, a village wich belongs to Silves municipality.

It was since 2010, while a student of Architecture Master’s degree in the School of Arts of the University of Évora, that he has sought to have experiences in architecture ateliers, having worked with the Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza Vieira in 2015.

Fábio has endorsed in national architecture competitions, highlighting the participation in the competition “Universities Prize Lisbon Triennial Millennium BCP 2016”, in which the project designed by himself in collaboration with Tiago Dias Saraiva and Ana Filipa de Oliveira, was distinguished between the 6 projects taken to contest, having later been exhibited in two exhibits. The first one “Sines: Seaside Logistics” which took place in Sinel de Cordes Palace in Lisbon and the second exhibit “Sines: Seaside Logistics | An architectural Atlas for Sines” which took place at the Sines Arts Center in Sines.

Also, it is important to mention exhibits in which he had his own projects exhibited and recognized, “Heritage and Contemporary Art – Interventions in the bulwark system of Elvas” which took place in both Military Museum of Elvas – in Elvas – and in Convent of Badajoz, in Badajoz.

Allied to the time of academic training other experiences such as having been the student’s representative in the course committee, participated in local politics having firstly been elected for the house of parish and then, elected for the Municipal Assembly of Silves, a position which he holds up to the present, mainly seeking the Defense of Heritage, Culture and Life Quality of the population from the area he is natural of.

In 2017, Fábio organized and curated, along with João Galhardo Santos, an architectural exhibition “Malagueira of Álvaro Siza, 40 years later: ambitions of a set yet to achieve” in Holy Spirit College in Évora, the same year which he was monitor of the 5th year discipline (advanced project IV), assisting the teaching of the architects Pedro Pacheco and João Matos.

In 2018, Fábio defended in public evidence his project "Sines, a terrace by the seafront" for obtaining master´s degree, having been assigned the maximum classification of 20 values.

In 2018, Fábio defended in public evidence his project for several times he has been a voluntary in cultural, ambiental and social initiatives for the protection of life quality, sustainability and equal access of all people to opportunities, mobility and services.
