It's an excellent option for beginners but also those who have some experience in pencil drawing. I love the way Alan explains step by step his approach to portrait drawing. Following his instructions the task is no longer overwhelming and seems doable which is very inspiring.

The is the second course I have taken with Alan. He is a phenomenal teacher. His soothing voice and humility is so easy to listen to and comprehend. I so appreciate his instruction. THANK YOU ALAN!

i like the course, im more comfortable by using the grid cmethos than other drawing methods. somme people will desagree with this methos but it is a goodway to start. this is no right or wrong. just do things which you think is better for you

I learned some things in art especially the different pencils and some of the tools that were helpful. I also liked how he broke it down like, you don't have to have all the perfect tools, just use what you have to get started and there's no right or wrong, everything doesn't have to be perfect. He actually freed me with that because I always thought, if you didn't have the same as the artist, you sucked but his course definitely was great and inspiring.

Overall, I thought the course was useful but quite elementary. Not sure but I didn't notice before purchasing whether the course was marked as Beginner or more Advanced. In any case I did find some useful tips. Not sure I agree with the Grid Method and would have preferred more time spent on proportionality without Grids.

The course highly recommended not just sketch but he give the idea how to make your portrait more interesting.

Alan is not only a marvellous artist, I have found him to be a very good teacher as well. This is a combination that appears to be quite rare unfortunately.
I am only halfway through at the moment but I have learned a great deal already. The course is great value for money and I would highly recommend it.
