Introduction
Designed for relaxation or reading, the Roo Chair acts as both a comfortable seat and an artistic centerpiece for contemporary interiors. Its open, armless form allows freedom and comfort from multiple angles, blending functionality with expressive design.
The project began with a brief to develop a new product from scratch within one week. Through sketches inspired by the kangaroo’s posture and material contrast, I explored several directions before choosing this chair. The concept was developed through 3D modeling, proportional refinements, rendering, technical drawings, and finally, a physical prototype.
The strength of the Roo Chair lies in its comfort, sculptural balance, and the structural challenge of resting on two legs. It answers the growing need for furniture that bridges art and function, a contemporary piece that invites curiosity while harmonizing with the mode.
Inspired by the kangaroo, AKA Roo in Australia, this armchair translates the animal’s balance and flowing body lines into a sculptural yet functional form. The design captures the contrast between stability and motion, standing lightly on two legs that suggest movement and suspension.

Supplies
