SkillConnect: A Solution to raising the Nigerian Standard of Living

I researched the main painpoints of nigerians living in Nigeria. Economic hardship seemed to be the pressing one followed by food insecurity. 33.1million Nigerians will face economic hardship in 2025 - a 7million rise from 2024. The result of this is a drop in standard of living and eradication of the middle class.

I used Poe AI, Miro, and Visily.

Following the research and empathy exercise, We discovered that entrepreneurship and skill gap closure could really help improve the standard of living of our personas and as such chose a hybrid of Low effort (Mentorship Programs) and High Effort ( Vocational Training) with High Impact programs.

This program will be virtual and ought to address the current skill gap faced in the Nigerian economy where we have human resources but they need to be trained. It should also help close the gap of a funnel wherein there exists a trained, vetted and highly motivated workforce to fill jobs after being mentored by those in the industry; before then going on to become mentors themselves. It will be a self sustaining cycle.
