Hi, my name is Krista. I’m a graphic designer with over five years of experience in the field. In my free time, I enjoy attending painting classes and drawing illustrations. It’s a creative and peaceful process that brings me a lot of joy. Above all, I love drawing animals.

I create digital illustrations in Adobe Illustrator, but before that, I make sketches and fully draw characters on paper.

First of all, I draw the main elements on paper. During the drawing process, measuring is important for determining correct proportions. I usually find it helpful to mark the center line, along with the guidelines for the eyes, nose, and mouth.

Adobe Illustrator as the first layer. After that, I start tracing the drawing with thin lines on a new layer. It’s important to label each charakter on a separate layer to make it easier to work with colors and placement later.

Once the lines are drawn, I start filling in the areas with color. I begin with the larger details to get a sense of the illustration as a whole.

Once the large areas of color are filled in, I work on light and shadow, as well as the finer details that bring the illustration to life.

Finally, I add the background. I prefer a simple background to avoid drawing attention away from the main focus of the illustration. I often choose soft, neutral colors for the background to maintain a balanced composition and ensure the subject stands out clearly. The background can also set the mood or atmosphere of the piece, but I keep it subtle so it complements rather than competes with the main subject.
