Sitting in warm Thailand during a pandemic, I will tell you a little about myself. Many will say: The sea, the beach, how lucky I am. But, let me tell you how I ended up here. My story begins from a small town in Ukraine where I was born, but from childhood I knew that I would never live there. I was born at the time of the collapse of the Soviet Union and since there was no work or money from the state, when I was 4 years old, my mother left to work in Moscow. I grew up with my grandparents, and to be honest, my childhood was gorgeous, my mother provided me with everything a child could wish for. Then, entering the university and five years of torment, in a specialty that I will never use in the future. But, besides the unnecessary specialty, the university gave me a lot of other knowledge and opportunities. Therefore, in my 3rd year in university, I am going to America on an exchange program, although my specialty as an accountant, did not intersect with English in any way. But, the most important thing that my mother taught me, and continues to teach me to this day, is to communicate with people, to establish connections, so I grew up as a very sociable child, which helped me then and continues to help now. I returned from America and decided that my level of English language is skyrocketed, how deeply I was mistaken, but this did not prevent me from getting a job as a translator and interpreter in an international marriage agency. I did not work there for long, because I could not lie to the eyes, to all helpless foreigners who decided to find their love among Ukrainian women. To say that all these marriage agencies are sheer deception - I also cannot, because there were happy ends too. But, now about me, so let's continue. A Chinese woman studied with me in the same group, I still remember her name, Li Yuan, but, after all, more than 12 years have passed, but I think that I will never forget her, because she became the impetus, the first person whom began to teach me Chinese. Yes, yes, Chinese, with which I will later connect my whole future life. Now, it is worth to say that I am a teacher of the Chinese language and that is what I am doing now for a living during the pandemic. But how did I end up there? Do you still want to know?
