Hi, I'm Silas
I'm from Switzerland but used to live in Singapore until 2006. I don't really know why I started photography in the first place. I had a camera and started using it. First I photographed all kind of stuff until I found my passion in shooting portraits and later on dived into focusing on documentary aswell. I studied photojournalism and graduated in February 2020. I like the combination of documentary and portrait, I find it gives the photos an authenticity and brings out the personality of humans.
Here are some of my inspiration:
- Sandro Baebler (I love the his combination of commercial work in a very cinematic and documented style)
- Aaron Jay Young (Strong and authentic portraits with a touch of documentary style)
- Christian Walzl (The lighting in his portraits and how authentic the models are)
