I live on the gulf coast of Florida in a house surrounded by a beautiful and bountiful garden. This fact is the accomplishment of a dream I had to achieve a better work life balance. After quitting a prestigious but stressful full-time job in Boston in 2017, I now work as a part-time freelance Editor and spend a lot of time gardening. On a property that was nothing but sand and weeds in 2019, I have created a lush garden of beautiful ornamentals as well as over 50 edible plants. This week I have harvested sweet potatoes, papayas, starfruit, and peanuts.
During the 2020 pandemic, as may be the case for many of us, I watched a great deal more TV and film than I usually do. And certain programs seemed to have a more powerful than usual impact on me. Through this past year and a half, an impulse has arisen in me that I feel compelled to follow, and it has to do with storytelling. Perhaps storytelling for film. I am now dedicating daily time to exploring this impulse because somehow it feels very important. But I have no idea where it will lead!
