My project for course: Travel Watercolor

Key learnings

• Using the rough sketch for mapping out colours to practice techniques for the final piece
  I should have purchased olive green ages ago.
  Vary the types of brushstrokes
(eg. grassy hills dry brush, vs. plants at the front, mountain details, etc.)
Painting lines, and then softening them with a drier brush

Things I am still struggling with

• Variations in green - Sometimes all the different greens just seem to blend together in nature scenes. It's hard to get this balance right without adding so much contrast that the images becomes to harsh.
  I need to practice more cloud painting. I am finding it hard to combine the warmer radiant shades from sun and the darker colder blue shades of heavy clouds. I think I need to be more patient with the drying so that I can control the amount that the warm and cold shades bleed together better.
