Pierre Olivier

I am a marine biologist studying predator-prey interactions and food webs. In 2014, I started the @oceanfact project on instagram where I share bite size facts about marine biology and the sea. I love to write and I thrive in writing but I always felt that something was missing: a way to illustrate exactly what scientific discoveries are about, what are the little peculiarities about species that I describe.

Pictures are great, but usually, the animal is not gonna pose in the way you need it to be. That's how I got into illustrations. I wanted to learn that skill so that I could reach the next level in my science communication and develop new projects, like science board games! Looking forward to become better at illustrating. (which is a good relaxation to be honest :D)
