Lynne Dory

I have not done art since the 9th grade. I'm now 70 and I just began watercolor painting at the end of January 2021. I'm doing it solely for my own enjoyment. I thought I would be painting birds and other animals, mainly. However, I took a live portrait workshop from David J Rogers in California via Zoom and I did very well. I wanted to practice what I had learned right away so I did a portrait of my sister. I got rave reviews on Facebook! I astonished myself! Now I want to do mainly portraits of my friends, family, and my heroes to hang on my walls. I'm told I have talent. I'm doing a portrait of a baby boy that my hairdresser asked me to do for her. It's my 4th one. I do not know how to sketch or draw so I trace from photos and then paint. I will learn to draw soon, I hope.
