Karim Hasanein

Hi everyone,

I’m Karim, a Technical Office Engineer and furniture designer based in Cairo. My journey in design really took shape on the commercial factory floor. That environment taught me the hardcore realities of what it actually takes to turn a beautiful concept into a physically manufacturable piece of furniture.

After completing my university studies and spending some time on an exchange program in the UK, I became completely focused on the intersection of digital fabrication and physical woodworking. Currently, I specialize in Design for Manufacturing (DFM)—building parametric solid models in Fusion 360 and extracting precise 2D nesting data for CNC production. I’m also in the process of building my own brand and content channel, Simulated Saw Dust, which explores this exact workflow.

I’m taking this course to further refine my digital fabrication techniques and connect with designers who share a passion for CNC-optimized, structurally sound furniture. Looking forward to seeing everyone's work!
