I picked up my coloured pencils again during the recent lockdown. I haven’t had any formal art training but do come from an artistic family. I’m a social worker and I work with elderly people and their carers. It’s a stressful busy job and I need something to do in my free time that I can get absorbed into and relax. I have a Daughter who turned 40 this year, and a cheeky 7 year old Grandson, he really is the apple of my eye! Ive lived with my partner for 31 years. We have two elderly terrier dogs who are real divas. Ive only recently purchased water colours and choose this course because it covers a subject I really want to develop my skills in, animals. I’m a lover of music, the rockier the better! I’m a bit of a petrol head, enjoying super car rally’s with my Grandson. My favourite colour is yellow, bright zingy yellow! Hence my number 1 car would be a yellow Lambo. Yellow again, daffodils, yellow roses, yellow flowers in general! By contradiction to my love of loud and bright, I am empathic and feel greatly for the plight of world wide wildlife and the threat of extinction to so many species because of humankind. I worry about what kind of world my Grandson will inherit. I’m also passionate about dogs. I abhor animal cruelty, I just can’t understand how anyone could be cruel to an animal. It makes me sad that there are people in the world who think it is ok. Ive joined this course with little experience of water colours hoping to add this medium to coloured pencil drawings.
