This is probably one of the best art courses I have ever purchased, and I have purchased a large amount! Everything is very clearly explained and makes you feel inspired to have a go yourself. Such wonderful value in my opinion and would highly recommend

Nothing explained with any detail to speak of. He didn't even go over his palette, so then not able to figure out what colors to use for flesh tones. Just watched him, with no explanation on how to mix flesh tones. I had to guess what colors he was using from my own experience. I think he finally mentioned two colors, but that's it. I love his style of painting, but I was disappointed.

Learned a lot!

While not a comprehensive course on all aspects of oil painting, the course is a very good introduction to painting any portrait in oil from scratch. AJ shows how to do it his way and along the way dispenses tips on picking and manipulating reference photos from the internet, how to get the under painting accurate and many other invaluable tips on paint mixing, palettes and making the portrait read as 3D. Thanks to him, I think I finally get it about edges and how colour, not just value, works.
