Christine Leech

Hi My name is Christine Leech, also known as Sewyeah. I am an author, maker, stylist and workshop host. I love to make colourful, quirky yet stylish projects in everything from fabric and felt, to paper and of course pompoms. My favourite thing to do is to think of a thing to make, design what it's to look like, work out how to make something, and then share it with other people! I love sharing these ideas through running workshops, making how-to videos for my Instagram account @sewyeah and writing books.

In 2016 I wrote my 9th craft book Pompomania; 30 cute and characterful pompoms for the publisher Hardie Grant (my others cover everything from home sewing to embroidery, printing and papercraft and have sold over 250,00 copies worldwide). Whilst researching this book I learnt so much about making decorative pompoms - from simple one or two colour pompoms to more complex ones that look like fruit, trees, animals and my favourite sushi and macarons. Since writing the book I have created bespoke pompoms for brands such as Oasis clothing and Lovecrafts and run pompom workshops for West Elm, Instyle magazine and the Handmade festival.
