Over the years

Over the years

I've picked up various things over the years, and here are a few examples, I haven't limited myself to any single medium, but I like what I'm making.

Some of these were art class projects at school, the hare is a much more recent thing one and a half decades later.

These were all just things I knew I wanted to make. Samantha, the dragon I sketched out in pencil first, and that was based off various classroom doodles. She's made of chopped up bits of gouache covered watercolour paper in a shape inspired by pangolins, the spines are painted with what my dad told me at the time was "boat paint" which he bought me to paint chopsticks as hairsticks together. A project that never happened. Samantha came out of a frustration of all the scary ugly dragons, I like to think they can/should also be beautiful, and wise as well as terrifying and treasure obsessed.

The Hare was sketched on a whim on the back of an envelope which had already lived a life as a to do list and was based on the front cover of a 2023 or 2024 London Wildlife Trust magazine.
