Bibbings & Hensby

We are Jack Bibbings and Matthew Hensby. We make contemporary wooden furniture from our workshop in London with a focus on using hand tools to produce practical everyday pieces suited to contemporary homes.

Much of our work is characterised by the tools we use. We work predominantly with hand tools because of the warmth and individuality they impart and where the judgement and skill required means that things are never predictable and without challenge. This approach contributes significantly to the feel of what we make.

Rather than producing modern furniture using modern processes, or traditional processes to produce traditional designs, we marry traditional craft with contemporary design to make work that feels grounded and relevant.
