Sinead O'Keeffe

I am an actor and movement practitioner. My work is deeply rooted in a fascination with humanity—our motivations, our search for purpose, and how we connect to one another. Whether working as a performer or movement director, my creative process always begins with the text and/or the message. I immerse myself in the language, exploring the themes, the world, and the characters’ experiences. From there, I use an anthropological lens to translate the words into creative action, collaborating closely with directors and actors to shape a process that brings the story to life. My goal is always to support the physical life of the project, crafting a physicality that is rooted in the heart of the material.
As an actor, I have learned that the best work happens in collaboration. Influential mentors like Vanessa Ewan and Sue Lefton have helped me refine my practice, showing me how to realize the imagination through the body and break down movement in ways that make it accessible to all. Additionally, my personal experiences with neurodiversity, parenting and understanding the importance of mental wellbeing, have shaped my belief that cultivating joy and encouraging others to take risks and embrace failure are the most important pursuits. I approach every project and every person I work with through a lens of unconditional positive regard, striving to create an atmosphere of kindness and joy that empowers others to realize their potential.
