I have been waiting for an online course by Richard Thorn for years and I have to say I'm not disappointed!!! I love his style an this course has unveiled his technique in the most simple way. Highly recommended!

I learned some valuable tips on how to create washes, glazes, and how to mix different watercolor hues in this course. One of the most useful things I learned was how to begin a painting by sketching the landscape and preparing a tonal sketch to begin. It was well worth the time it took to watch it.

At first, was not as interested as I am now that I have followed his links. Purchased the recommended book as I’m always looking for ideas and suggestions. Downloaded the template for swatches and tried some colour combinations.

Excellent course.

I really enjoyed this course and Richard's style of teaching. I learnt some great new techniques and also how to be brave! He really gives confidence.

Love Richards way of teaching watercolor! He makes it look fun and stress free. We are humans painting a picture not a copy machine, a good one for me to remember since I tend to be a perfectionist. And because of that I’m a procrastinator, now I feel the urge to dive in without fear. I will definitely be following him online.

I loved this class. Very complete,
with many explanations to explain the artist's way of working and how to implement them, that's was really interesting.

I have greatly enjoyed the use of a wide variety of brushes, especially the stiffer brushes. The course is helping me to overcome my 'purest' watercolor approach and get a bit more organic with the tools themselves.

Wonderful! This course has really helped me overcome some restraints I often have with watercolour paintings.
I love the way Richard teaches, he’s so calm and optimistic about the outcome. Especially the techniques for adding structure to colour und the tonal studies have helped me a lot.
I would strongly recommend this course and will come back to watch some of the units again.
