Julia Bell

Writer and educator. I have taught Creative Writing across the UK and internationally and am the editor and author of the bestselling Creative Writing Coursebook (Macmillan). I have published, novels, essays short stories and poetry in publications that include the TLS, The Paris Review, The White Review and for the BBC. Most recently I published the book-length essay, Radical Attention (Peninsula Press), which has been widely reviewed and named by Paula Hawkins as one of the top 5 books that changed her life.
My latest work is a memoir in verse - Hymnal - forthcoming with Parthian in spring 2023 and a book of essays.

I live in London and teach at Birkbeck and for other organisations including London Lit Lab, The Arvon Foundation, and Skyros Centre in Greece and coach and tutor writers privately both in the UK and Internationally. Check out my website for links and further details.
