Our Story

Synopsis

Lygeri arrives in Ioannina and joins the theatre company of her uncle Asimakis as a seamstress to help the very difficult financial situation of her family. Her arrival creates a big issue in the troupe where Zenovia dislikes her, Metaxia is jealous of her, Thymios and Pavlos fall in love with her and Sissy finds a new friend in her face. The troupe is preparing the play "Romeo and Juliet". Listening to the story of this great love, Lygeri gets excited and reads the play.
Lygeri prepares the clothes of the show where Metaxia and Pavlos will star. Metaxia reacts badly with her suit and accuses Lygeri. Sissy confesses to Lygeri that Pavlos cheats on her with Metaxia while Thymios secretly watches every move of Lygeri. At the moment when Lygeri is raped by someone in her room, Zenovia accepts a proposal for theatre performances in Istanbul.
The troupe is upset by the proposal they accepted for performances in Instabul. Asimakis is negative but Zenovia is adamant because with this job she will become rich and famous. Asimakis leaves for a quick trip Instabul to close the deal and the performances. He takes Thymios and Lygeri with him, who thinks of telling her uncle that she will return to her village. Lygeri after meeting Kemal after a tango dance, is thinking of staying in the troupe.
With their return to Ioannina, the rehearsals for the Instabul begin intensively. Zenovia and Metaxia behave very badly in Lygeri, making her want to leave the troupe again. But Sissy manages to convince her to stay. Lygeri confesses to her that someone from the troupe raped her. Kemal only thinks of Lygeri and tells Ali. Melek listens to them secretly and mistakenly tells Oslan.
The troupe leaves for Instabul and the performances begin. Opposite them is Ali's dancing troupe with Kemal. Kemal shows Lygeri Instabul making her so happy for the first time in her life even though she feels a little unwell. Sissy confesses to Pavlos what Lygeri told her. Paul is upset and later Sissy sees him hitting Thymios badly. Melek confesses to Kemal the mistake she made but Kemal is so happy that even his father can face.
Lygeri asks Kemal to keep their relationship a secret. He doesn't reveal to her that his father has found out. Oslan visits Kemal and threatens to ruin his life if he doesn't leave the Greek woman. He gets to the point of hitting him. Melek and Ali kick out him and support Kemal. Metaxia catches Lygeri with Kemal and asks Asimakis to kick out her. Oslan captures Kemal in the basement of his house as Lygeri learns she is pregnant.
Oslan tortures Kemal. In Asimakis' troupe, everyone learns the truth about the love of Lygeri and Kemal. Paul is upset and Thymios disappears. Zenovia and Metaxia ask Asimakis to expel Lygeri immediately because they will be destroyed. At the same time, Lygeri asks Asimakis to help her release Kemal. For the first time she looks so determined and changed. Asimakis with Lygeri and Thymios manage to set free Kemal and hide him in the troupe.
Oslan is looking for his son and blackmails Ali and Melek who do not reveal anything to him. At the same time in Instabul there is a big uprising against Menderes. The moment Oslan learns that his son is hiding in the Greek theatre troupe of Asimakis and goes to find him, the Turks arrest him. Paul reveals to everyone that Metaxia told Oslan that his son was hiding in them. Asimakis's troupe flees to Greece as the Turks chase them to capture Kemal. Ali and Melek help their friend Kemal.
During the escape, Asimakis tries to kill Kemal at the urging of Zenobia so that everyone can escape. Lygeri then reveals to Asimakis that the child has been his since the night he raped her but Asimakis does not remember anything because he was drunk. Lygeri blackmailes him to take Kemal to Greece, otherwise she will reveal to everyone that he raped her. Thymios confirms it to them because he had seen everything. Asimakis becomes a mess.
The Turks manage to stop the troupe on the Greek-Turkish border and arrest Kemal. In a fight, Asimakis enters in front of Kemal to protect him and he is killed. Zenobia then realizes how much she loved this man. Ali and Melek try to convince the Turks that Kemal is not guilty of anything but they only succeed in letting the Greeks go. They decide to sentence Kemal to death.
With the help of Metaxia, Lygeri asks for a favor from the Turks before they kill Kemal. To dance one last tango with him. In the dance he kills him and commits suicide. Metaxia collapses in the face of their death and Pavlos decides to be faithful to Sissy because after all this he realized how much he loves her. The rest of the troupe is leaving Turkey while Thymios has disappeared.
Years later, the daughter of Metaxia, named Lygeri, meets his son Ali and Melek, who have named him Kemal. A new love is born in a more optimistic era.
