Mike McCain

I'm a veteran Art Director and Visual Development Artist for games and animation. In 2018 I rediscovered my first love, painting, on a road trip through some of America’s most breathtaking National Parks. I left a job and team I also loved (directing games at Seattle indie studio Harebrained Schemes) to focus on art—eventually moving to Los Angeles in 2020. Since then I’ve art-directed an animated film adaptation of the bestselling book The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse, painted backgrounds for Disney’s Ghost and Molly McGee, and contributed to the visual development of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and an unannounced Netflix show. In my spare time I head for the nearest open sky to hike, paint, and practice photography.
