Very good information and teacher.
I am on the fence here - while this was somewhat informative, it was also VERY specific. I understand explaining everything there is to know wouldn't fit in a 2-3 hr course, however, it would've been nice for Patricia to explain other research methods, when to use them and how to synthesize the information. I would've also liked to know how evaluative research would compare at each stage to generative (?) research. How different are they? how can it be adapted/done differently.
Lately, I've been closer to UX research, and even though this course is marked as a "beginner" level, I think it can be really helpful to organize and optimize processes. Also, it answered me doubts I had about general good practices. Her example to apply the methodologies is a new feature created from scratch, but with some adjustments, the exercises can also be used to iterate on existing products.
The teacher seems to have a lot of on-field experience and is very didactic.
I'm a graphic designer who wants to become a UX/UI designer. I choosed Patricia Reiners' course because I thinked it will demystify the jargon and helps me to make the first steps in the industry. I wasn't disappointed. Great course!
I would highly recommend this course as it goes over heuristics, methodologies, and when to use them. Patricia also provides many example templates for a good foundation of where to start in User Testing and Researching. I finished this course with the confidence that I have learned a lot about how to optimize my research flow and understand more about the basics for UX Design.
4/5
This course is a great way for who want to enter the UX research field. The classes are dynamic, leading the student to discover many tips and resources in stages. Beside that, methods used by Patrícia makes the field of research very stimulating for all kind of designers. I totally recommend it!
I would recommend this course for you who want to jump into UX Research career
Patricia does a great job of demystifying what is sometimes a jargonistic discipline, stripping back the process to what most UXers will actually use in the field, and providing useful resources, tips and methods for your own research. The research plan and contract are particularly handy docs to use in the real world. For me the focus was on gathering qualitative research, rather than quantitative. Great course Patricia!
Ótimo curso. Patrícia é uma ótima instrutora e ensina passos cruciais da pesquisa. O curso é bem introdutório, mas foi uma ótimo mesmo assim. Só senti falta de mais exercícios.
amazing course Patricia!!! you are such an inspiration for the designers!
