Sneakers can be an ideal canvas on which to express your creativity. However, working on fabric can be a challenge, both when painting and when keeping it clean and protected.
That's why Juan Pablo Bello, Art Director and founder of MYSNKRS Customs (@mysneakerscl), teaches us how to customize the laces of our shoes, apply and paint details, and protect our design so that we can wear them for longer. You can watch his tutorial here:
1. Customize the laces
Shoe laces are very useful element to give designs a different touch. One of the simplest and effective ways to customize your sneakers is to use two colors of lace that will cross when the shoe is tied. To do this, we can just tie two laces of different colors together and then cut the shorter side.
Once this is done, we will put the laces in place, making sure that the knot that joins the two laces is behind the tongue of the shoe. We will also try to make one of the two laces a little longer than the other, and we will start by passing that one through the first two eyelets of the shoe.
