Muy interesante el curso.Muy simpática y amena la forma de explicarse de Jean...de este curso salió la imagen que vemos:
"Paseando por la avenida del Concept Art"
Gracias y un saludo
In advance I congratulate you because your image caught my attention. It stands out for its original concept and that is always an immense quality!
I recommend the following to improve this image a bit:
The main problem is the focal point.
First, the general character design is not very attractive (take a look at my character design course, you will find some very valuable tips lol :)
The anatomy is a bit dubious and the pose is ambiguous; I don't know if he wants to be king kong, or the beautiful durmiento touching the peak of the loom hehe.
Another problem: by darkening the upper part of the body and having highlights in the lower part, you shifted the focus of the image towards the knees, which is not very interesting. They attract a lot of attention, even more than the hand with the flash, because in this area, the background is clear due to the mist and the silhouette of the body is more contrasting.
The composition itself is very central, with the tower and the hand in the vertical and horizontal center of the image. It gives a very immobile sensation when the image pretends to be moving and dynamic (it is called "passing through the avenue ...", but it does not seem that it is walking but it is immobile ...)
Last point. All the forms that we create in our images, generate flows and movements. The towers you put up look a bit random, without their organization contributing anything to the movement of the image. Try to study very thoroughly how the shapes move an image inside and you will have learned a new language, almost musical, with which you can take your audience by the hand and generate true sensory experiences.
@jbfraisse Hi! Thanks for commenting.
If there is something that I appreciate, it is a quality, objective, useful review ... and yours is excellent.
I will study your observations thoroughly in my next designs.
You don't like my character? ... if it's a self-portrait!
Thank you Jean, a pleasure to read your comment, it has helped me a lot.
... I'm going to buy your other two courses right now.
a greeting

I hope this helps. Congratulations again.
