Yannick-Maria Reimers is a cultural scientist and art activist, has taught acting and creative writing in schools for years and lectured at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg as part of alternative teaching on change processes, identity development and character building. Reimers is committed to engagement and democracy as well as a diverse togetherness. A wide variety of communities have their say in Reimer's films, including queer, black, Jewish and Muslim communities as well as people with disabilities and people who have fled their homes. Diversity is celebrated in Reimer's art! Yannick-Maria Reimers has been awarded various prizes, including the Bertini Prize for people with moral courage and the KIMI seal for diversity. As an artist, Reimers was named BUDNI Talent and was a member of the jury for the literature scholarship Stadtschreiberin Hamburg.
