I studied fine art many years ago at university in Melbourne Australia but never really used my art knowledge or Diploma in Education to teach it. I immediately left for Europe straight after and started up a whole new career as an English teacher. I spent 23 years teaching English in Greece and returned to my homeland 3 years ago to restart my career in Art teaching. I worked for two years before the mandates spat me out of the system. Now I have been spending my time rediscovering my love for art and painting. I especially enjoy doing landscapes and have signed up to do several online courses including an Art Therapy course just to brush up on my painting skills and knowledge. I love the idea of plein air art. I remember we did some of this at art school and I was very fond of it. Being there, and having your subject right there in front of you as opposed to a photo is really exciting. I don't have a favourite artist but I am a huge admirer of Picasso only for his courage to constantly rediscover himself without fear.
