Estefanía Aimar

Bachelor on Visual Arts & New Media specialised in Sound Art at the University of Barcelona.
Linked to art since childhood starting with ballet, improvisation, architecture, fine arts, visual arts like performance, photography and video art. Multidisciplinary artist specifically dedicated to the study of sound, soundscapes, ecoacoustics, electroacoustics and the study of multifocal systems. Also, she is currently investigating the simultaneity of the processes between movement, sound, image, time and space through technology.

Her works have been presented in concerts, radio programs, festivals, museums, art and music festivals in Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, United States, Canada, Germany, Belgium, France, Holland and China among other countries.

She has obtained an artistic residency at the Fundación Phonos for electroacoustic and multifocal experimentation, in addition to having actively collaborated for the same institution, as curator of electroacoustic concerts for "Women in Phonos". Collaborator of Grupo de Exploración del Entorno Sonoro and the Laboratory of Sound Art of the University of Barcelona as a Researcher and Audiovisual Producer in Barcelona.

Today, she is dedicated to experimental sound creations, artistic criticism and research in the current Western context on ecology, technology, capitalism, post-colonialism, decolonisation and feminism in relation to the visual and sound arts.
