Al Nash

I am an artist. I paint and have done a number of shows over the past 15 years. I have not done a book though that has been a dream of mine that just doesn't go away. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in commercial art in 1969, but instead of pursuing a career in art, I opted for a career as an army officer and later I worked as a teacher and librarian. It was as a librarian that my desire to do a children's book was born. Some of my influences in the area of children's book illustration have been Maurice Sendak, Paul Goble, and Ezra Jack Keats.
