Rubina Lucas

Hello, my name is Rubina, originally from Madeira Island, living in the beautiful Yorkshire area.
Since I was a kid I always loved drawing and painting. One of my favorite childhood memories was seing my dad paiting nature on site during our weekend drives. After 25 years I still own my dad's guache set from Carandache.
I stopped drawing has I grew up because of school, exames and university. I end up training as a registered nurse in Portugal and in 2015 moved to the UK. Found my husband and now we have 3 children (4, 2 and 4 months).
Even though I wasn't drawing and painting during all this time, I was still very much interested in the arts through photography, fashion, architecture and interior design.
This year (2024) I got inspired to relearn and start my creative journey. I love illustration and I enjoy using guache, colour pencils, oil pastels and neocolour II. I'm inspired by colours, textures and patterns around me, but mostly by nature and my family.
